Neck Pain

Neck Pain Treatment in Nashville, TN

Steve Kravitz Physical Therapy

Dr Kravitz literally saved me from an invasive neck surgery. I had seen everyone for my herniated disk issue: an orthopedist, an acupuncturist, a chiropractor and even had 3 rounds of epidural steroid shots - nothing was removing the intense pain I was living with as a result of a neck injury. I finally had a surgical date set to remove my disk when I decided to reach out to Steve for help. He looked at my MRI and told me, “Give me one month before having the surgery”. Thankfully, I listened to Dr Kravitz.

Within 2 weeks, I noticed a difference. Within a month, I was virtually pain-free and had my life back. I don’t want to say he’s a miracle worker (but when you are that intense pain, those are the words that find you) - rather, he’s an incredibly talented doctor who understands the body and it’s complicated mechanics. And more importantly, he cares greatly about his patients and is committed to their health and well-being. Not to mention, he’s one of the nicest people you will ever meet.

I highly recommend Dr Kravitz. Run don’t walk to his practice. I’m now a life-time patient and have sent numerous friends and colleagues to see Steve.

●      Symptoms -

60-70% of the population claim to experience neck pain at some point in their lives. Symptoms vary from very sharp pain with restricted movement to dull, aching and burning in the surrounding shoulder and shoulder blade muscles. In some cases, patients experience symptoms that may travel down the arm to the hand causing pain or numbness and tingling.  In more severe cases, significant weakness is noted in the arm or hand. Neck pain can be described as mild or severe, but how long the pain persists is what differentiates acute from chronic pain.

●      Neck Pain Causes -

The neck is a very mobile structure allowing for movement in many directions. This mobility allows the neck to be susceptible to injury and disorders that create pain and restrict motion. Neck pain is often tied to poor posture, sleep-related issues, whiplash, unexpected falls, or sometimes for unknown reasons. Common neck problems can consist of facet syndromes, herniated discs, osteoarthritis as well as muscular pain and tension. Many people view neck pain as a temporary condition that disappears within several days, but for others, the underlying stiffness and weakness can predispose the neck to further injury and prolong the painful situation.

●      How to Get Neck Pain Relief -

Manual therapy interventions are found to be very beneficial in treatment of the cervical spine. Dr. Steve Kravitz provides a multidisciplinary approach to healthcare using techniques of joint mobilization, deep tissue mobilization, and muscular retraining that is uniquely tailored to relieve patient's specific problems overtime. Each treatment is gentle and non-invasive, focusing on releasing the tension and discomfort in a patient’s neck and aiding in ultimate relief. The benefits from treatment can strengthen the functioning of our nervous system, increase circulation throughout our body, and improve the way our organs work.
